Wikidelphia On Twitter/X: Difference between revisions

Wikidelphia's Twitter/X timeline @wikidelphia1 began in February 2022. I (staff editor PaulSank) started it and have been running it. I post these kinds of messages:

A Brand New Wikidelphia Page: I announce a newly made Wikidelphia page.
A New Wikidelphia Stub: When I start a page, I announce the new "stub". Usually, the page idea was prompted by a story found in the news, so this type of post will usually include a news story. The stub becomes a full new page after a few months.
Updated Page: After I do a full update on an existing Wikidelphia page, I post an announcement of the update.
News Item Added: In my regular news search for page ideas, sometimes I'll bump into a news story that would be good to add to an existing Wikidelphia page. I make the addition and announce it.
Reposts: When I clock in, I check our Home timeline and look for suitable messages to repost. Usually, my reposts are local events of general interest, for example, festivals and job fairs.
Top-Viewed Tweets: Periodically, I'll do a countdown of our top-Viewed (most popular) posts. Since most of our messages refer to organizations or businesses, this is an opportunity for some local organizations and businesses to be spotlighted for their popularity.
Special Mention and Editor's Note: Some posts don't fit into any of the types above, and they usually fit into one of these two categories.

I don't post on Facebook, because there have always been serious privacy concerns with that platform. Not only that, but I have plenty of experience with Twitter.

I wish the big corporations and powerful activist groups would stop picking on "X", because I see every day that many of our great local nonprofits still depend on this platform for an important part of their outreach efforts. If "X" gets killed by these wealthy groups, a huge number of charitable voices will be silenced, and they may or may not be able to find an equivalent and affordable alternative, given that "X" still has millions and millions of users.
