With a 26 percent poverty rate, Philadelphia has long been the poorest metropolitan area of the country’s biggest cities. Here's what we’re doing to change that:

Workforce Development: Training, development, and job placement for career seekers. Our Workforce Development department provides career seekers a path to employment through training and development.

Housing Counseling:  Creating pathways to prosperity through homeownership. Our Housing department helps families build equity and stability with its First-Time Homebuyer Program, laying a solid foundation for intergenerational wealth. Housing counselors assist with foreclosures and defaults, and provide help with financial literacy and utilities.

Youth and Education:  We inspire the next generation of leaders. Education is the foundation for empowerment. Our programs inspire leadership, economic success, and independence while preparing students for college and career.

Entrepreneurship Center:  We grow the next big thing. Our Entrepreneurship Center offers workshops and events designed to drive job creation and encourage innovation.

Health and Wellness:  We advocate for access to quality healthcare. The Urban League of Philadelphia's Health and Wellness program is designed to educate and empower our communities to adopt healthy lifestyles.

Advocacy & Civic Engagement: We advocate for access to quality healthcare. The Urban League of Philadelphia's Advocacy program is designed to educate and empower our communities to become engaged citizens.
