Helping Philly's Homeless Animals Every Day
In 2009, we formed the 501(c) nonprofit corporation Philadoptables to help Philadelphia get closer to the goal of becoming a No Kill City. What is that? It’s a City that finds humane opportunities for all healthy and treatable animals who have lost their homes or who are at risk of doing so. These are not only companion animals, but also animals, such as feral cats, whose homes are our communities.
No Kill communities are safer, more compassionate and humane communities. Which we believe is a very good thing!
In keeping with this vision, Philadoptables provides assistance to rescue organizations, animal shelters — especially the Animal Care and Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly) — and individuals who are committed to helping Philadelphia’s most at-risk animals.
Your donations to Philadoptables fund the following:
- Medical bills for rescue organizations that save ACCT Philly’s animals;
- Pet food and other services for pet owners in need, enabling them to properly care for and keep their pets.
- Trap/neuter/return (TNR) and other medical care for community cats, as well as winter housing.
- Essential shelter resources for ACCT Philly — e.g., medical equipment, microchip scanners, dog play-lots, kitten supplies — that are not in its budget and that provide additional comfort and care to the animals at the facility.
