THE ENTERPRISE CENTER MISSION STATEMENT
Founded in 1989 by the Wharton Small Business Development Center, The Enterprise Center (TEC) provides access to capital, building capacity, business education and economic development opportunities to high-potential, minority entrepreneurs. Through our portfolio of business-acceleration initiatives, TEC seeks to better position minority enterprises to compete in the local, regional, and global economies.
AFFILIATE ORGANIZATIONS
TEC Community Development Corporation: Founded in 2001 by The Enterprise Center, a business accelerator in West Philadelphia, The Enterprise Center Community Development Corporation’s (TEC-CDC) mission is to build neighborhoods where individuals are willing, able, and organized to achieve their common goals. TEC-CDC fulfills its mission through both programmatic initiatives that engage and develop community residents, schools, and organizations, as well as physical redevelopment projects that rebuild infrastructure and create jobs.
TEC Capital Corporation: Founded in 2002 by The Enterprise Center, its parent organization, The Enterprise Center Capital Corporation’s (TEC-CC) mission is to provide access to capital to minority and women entrepreneurs, and to businesses located in low-income and/or urban communities. TEC-CC is certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), Community Development Entity (CDE), and US Small Business Administration Micro Loan Intermediary.
