The '''Chestnut Hill Community Association''' (CHCA) {{gives}}<blockquote>Chestnut Hill has remained a vital community since its annexation with the City more than 100 years ago, by controlling it destiny through a strong community. In the 1950’s and 1960’s local residents established a formal organization, the Chestnut Hill Community Association, dedicated to the social and economic well-being of the neighborhood.<br><br>The goal of the CHCA is to be dedicated to encouraging a sense of community in Chestnut Hill and to improving the quality of life in the community.<br><br>The CHCA focuses on achieving six objectives: Leadership; Long-Range Solutions; Education; Community Fund; Participation; and Finances.<br><br>To meet these ends, the CHCA intends to provide leadership by accepting and sharing responsibility for the solution of problems that affect the quality of life of the Chestnut Hill community. In so doing, the CHCA seeks comprehensive and long-range solutions which include developing priorities, identifying resources, making studies, initiating programs, cooperating with other entities, seeking to have others take responsibility, coordinating community efforts, and following other, appropriate courses of action.<br><br>Moreover, the CHCA conducts informative and educational activities, including public meetings and publication of a weekly newspaper, the award-winning Chestnut Hill Local, to inform the community about religious, educational, environmental, social, and political concerns and other issues that affect the community. The Chestnut Hill Local is an integral function of the CHCA; it acts as a forum for community discourse to, in part, “publish all responsible points of view on the various issues presented in The Forum” section of the Local.<br><br>Finally, the CHCA endeavors to be an active participant in all community issues.<br><br>The CHCA manages the business of The Chestnut Hill Community Fund. Although each organization has separate leadership, the CHCA encourages members of the community to participate in forming its policies and in carrying out its activities. The CHCA is dedicated to transparency in its finances by regularly balancing budgets and reporting on financial issues at all meetings.<br><br>The CHCA has nearly 1,600 Household memberships, which offer value-added benefits.</blockquote>

We proudly serve 10,000+ area residents and the thousands more who visit Philadelphia's "Garden District." The Chestnut Hill Community Association (CHCA) is a membership organization and serves as a public forum for the residents and stakeholders of Chestnut Hill. This is the association through which community policy is discussed, and is the voice of the community to the city of Philadelphia regarding development, land use planning, and zoning issues. We also hold many cultural events throughout the year that bring residents together and opportunities to experience the charms of our community.
