Manton Street Park and Community Garden, located at the NW corner of 4th and Manton Streets, is a leisure pocket park and community garden with ten garden plots.
The Friends of Manton Street Park and Community Garden have reclaimed a long-neglected city park and a vacant lot, converting the lot into a community garden for local residents and working with PHS, Fairmount Parks Conservancy and PPR to build a pocket park in the adjoining lot.
The secondary goal of the Friends of Manton Street Park is to promote the increasing vibrancy of Pennsport/Dickinson Narrows - restaurants, coffee shops, parks and community events - and to create a network of friends to share resources and information to keep improving the quality of life in our neighborhood.
Note: The above descriptive information came from the organization's Facebook About page.
