Greater Canaan Church of God in Christ was founded in 1993 in a space near the intersection of 15th and Jefferson streets. It moved to a location on Spring Garden Street before it found its current home in Fairmount.
One thing that has not changed though is the community between all of its members.
"They are just dedicated to people," said member Vasha P.
Note: The above descriptive information came from the Philadelphia Tribune article below. In 2023, a post on the church's Facebook page showed an address in Belmont adjacent to Mantua.
