Organizing for Community Development

Millions of people use the Community Tool Box each year to get help taking action, teaching, and training others in organizing for community development. Dive in to find help assessing community needs and resources, addressing social determinants of health, engaging stakeholders, action planning, building leadership, improving cultural competency, planning an evaluation, and sustaining your efforts over time.

Build Your Toolbox

The Community Tool Box offers thousands of pages of practical guidance for community change efforts. We'd love to partner with your organization to deliver these resources for implementation to those you serve through a “mashup,” integrating curated tools and guidance for implementation with your organization's framework for change.

Ask an Advisor

Ask an Advisor is a free service that provides brief, personalized responses to questions about community work (for example, questions about planning, assessment, participation, publicity, program development, leadership, advocacy, or evaluation).

We are not able to answer all questions, such as those relating to counseling on personal matters, academic or degree progress, legal issues, or to provide references for paid speakers or consultants.
