This Wikidelphia resource page helps you find free meals in Philadelphia.

Community Magic offers a two-page PDF schedule of soup kitchen free meals. The second page has additional resources for homeless and other needy persons.

2-1-1 SEPA says, "People could also dial 211 to call the resource hotline in their area or text their zip code to 898211 to locate resources."

I would suggest printing out a few copies of the PDF to keep with you whenever you walk in Philly. When somebody asks you for money, saying they're homeless or hungry, keep your cash, because 80% of the time it's going to feed a bad habit. Give them a copy of the PDF instead, so if they're really in need, they'll have real, substantial resources to reach out for. Another possibility is to download and print materials from 2-1-1 SEPA:
