Quechua Language Program and Andean Culture at the University of Pennsylvania

The former language of the Inca Empire and today with nearly 8 million speakers throughout the Andes, Quechua is the most spoken indigenous language in the Americas. Yet, it’s unrecognizable to most people, and even declared by UNESCO as an endangered language.

The Quechua Language Program offers classes through the Penn Language Center and is the only Ivy League institution to do so in such a capacity. Our courses encompass Quechua language and Andean Culture topics. We invite you to learn more about our program, activities and research initiatives.
