The Church That Moved The Bridge
Experience history, tradition & inspiration in the cradle of American Methodism: a place of worship since 1769.
- Worship: Join us in our light-filled Georgian sanctuary. Gather where Methodists have been worshiping since 1769. Services and holy communion followed by a time of fellowship. Sunday School for children offered during the service, September thru May. Nursery play area available for younger children.
- Museum: Experience history in our museum! Through objects, paintings and documents, you will be transported to the start of our denomination. See Captain Webb flourishing his sword to gather the faithful; imagine packing your belongings in a saddlebag and traveling 265,000 miles on horseback like Francis Asbury; read the words of Joseph Pilmore in his personal journal. These adventures and more are waiting for you.
- History: The Historical Society of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference is among the oldest in the United Methodist Church. Founded in the 1860s, the Society is entirely voluntary and open to all, and works in partnership with the appointed members of the EPA Commission on Archives and History.
Note: The above descriptive information came from the church's home page and from three other pages on the website.
