Healing-Justice Informed Therapy for Liberated Mental Health

Sankofa Healing Studio's Community Care Coordinators are dedicated to supporting under-resourced youth and adults impacted by trauma and system-involved. We recognize that structural racism plays a significant role in perpetuating the harmful effects of trauma across generations. By actively challenging and dismantling structural racism, we strive to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma, fostering healing, resilience, and empowerment for the individuals and communities we serve.

The Community Care Coordinator plays a vital role as a source of support for women and trans or gender non-conforming (TGNC) individuals who have either experienced or are currently facing incarceration. Their dedicated efforts aim to provide guidance, resources, and compassion to help navigate the unique challenges and circumstances that arise from the intersection of gender identity, incarceration, and personal well-being.

The Community Care Coordinator holds a vital role within our team, actively centering the voices of individuals and families who are directly impacted by the services we provide. They play a pivotal role in offering essential information, insights, and advocacy, ensuring that the perspectives and best interests of those we serve remain at the forefront of our efforts. By valuing and amplifying the lived experiences and needs of those directly impacted, the Community Care Coordinator contributes to fostering a more inclusive and empowering environment, where their voices are heard and their well-being is prioritized.
