| The widespread shortages of food in general, and particularly healthy options, create “food deserts” in many of the poorest neighborhoods in Philadelphia. This unacceptable reality has created a pervasive health issue in many parts of our city.

| Too many Philadelphia residents are unable to secure employment simply because they don’t have a GED or the basic skills required to earn a living wage. This issue has become even more critical during these difficult economic times. Workforce development and adult education programs are important components in helping low-income residents provide for their families.

| New members join our 500-plus member Facebook page daily. The Action Team includes 50 young professionals. The overall effort has been spearheaded by a dedicated and talented 10-member Steering Committee of emerging leaders who volunteer their time and expertise.
