A Poem By Gerald Alan Ney

The Heretic  06/13/08

Pick and choose
Day after day
Operating on
Automatic.

~

It's all fine
For inside The Book;
Inside the church,
synagogue or temple;
Buried on page seven
of the sermon's notes.

~

But for the "Real World"
What's Convenient,
What's Desired,
What's Feared,
What's Prejudged
and Misjudged
Comes first.

~

Seeing how God sees
Seen as not seeing
Reality..
Not one bit
Must be made!
Exceptions!
Different are These Times,
Our Needs, My Needs.

~

A double minded man
Mired in double think
In the news,
On the net
Down the street.
Everywhere I go.

~

And
He's also
In the Mirror.

-Gerald Alan Ney
