The Melanated Educators Collective (MEC) along with the Caucus of Working Educators recognizes the critical need for African American educators nationwide.

  • In Philadelphia, MEC is attempting to work with the School District of Philadelphia in order to ensure that our schools are filled with quality educators who reflect the student body.
  • Creating a curriculum rich in cultural awareness, historical accuracy, and high expectations taught by educators with a genuine care and concern for the children and the community is a goal of MEC.
